About

Meet Emily

I’m an occupational therapist who focuses on helping children develop tools through what is called co-regulation. Co-regulation is where adults help children learn to regulate their emotions through attunement to a child's nervous system needs.

When a child feels understood and emotionally supported, their nervous system is better able to calm, organize, and develop long-term self-regulation and other important occupational skills. My work often includes supporting families in understanding neurodivergence, including autism and high-masking presentations that can sometimes be missed in traditional settings.

I’m particularly interested in helping parents learn about the broad autism spectrum, including profiles such as Pathological Demand Avoidance (PDA), and how a child’s nervous system can influence behavior, emotional reactions, and daily functioning. My goal is to help children feel more confident in themselves while helping parents better understand how their child’s brain and nervous system work, including providing resources and guidance.

Outside of therapy

Outside of work, I spend a lot of time reading and learning about neurodivergence, emotional regulation, and the ways different nervous systems experience the world. I’m especially interested in research related to autism. I enjoy relaxing at home, spending time with my cat Sam, and continuing to learn about child development and mental health through books and research.

What families are saying

  • We were nervous about starting therapy, but our first session put us at ease. Patient, kind, and great at explaining what we can do at home — we noticed progress within a few weeks.

  • Sessions feel like play to our daughter, but every single one ends with a clear takeaway for us as parents. We feel like real partners in her progress, not just bystanders.

  • Warm, organized, and on top of insurance from day one. They made what felt overwhelming feel doable. Our son actually asks when his next visit is.
