Meet Elizabeth
When I was picking my career in high school, I found myself gravitating toward supporting families and individuals who were less able to communicate their needs, especially since I have a younger brother who was a late language learner. This drive later fueled me to seek additional training to gain a deeper understanding of how to assist my clients in more complex aspects of our scope of practice such as reading/writing, feeding, and Childhood Apraxia of Speech (CAS), Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC), Central Auditory Processing Disorder, stuttering, etc.
while I obtained a Bachelors degree with honors in Speech and Audiology in 2015 at Old Dominion University (ODU). Later, I remained at ODU to complete my Masters degree in Speech-Language Pathology in 2017.
I love to utilize a client-centered approach with my clients where I use different approaches/strategies based upon their individual needs. I love to learn new approaches, so I am always gaining the most up to date knowledge and am always seeking to bring the best care that I can to the families I have the privilege of serving.
Outside of therapy
In my free time, you can catch me learning more about speech, playing with my plethora of animals, completing some sort of cross stitch project, and/or outside getting some much needed Vitamin D as I catch up on a good book.
