About
Meet Julia
Hi! I’m a Speech-Language Pathologist with experience working with children across early intervention and school settings. I earned my bachelor’s degree from Augustana College and my master’s degree from Loyola University Maryland. After graduate school, I moved to Washington, DC, where I worked in early intervention before transitioning to an elementary school serving PreK–5th grade students. I moved to Chicago last year and have since been working with preschool students within an elementary school.
I love being a speech therapist because I get to help children find their voice, build confidence, and connect with the people around them. One of the most rewarding parts of my job is seeing the excitement and pride children feel as they grow their communication skills. I value building strong relationships with families so that we can work together to support each child in a meaningful and individualized way.
Outside of therapy
Outside of work, I enjoy spending time with friends, reading, and getting outside whenever I can. In the warmer months, you can usually find me playing tennis or enjoying time outdoors on the 606 or Chicago lakefront.
